On December 2nd of last year, SMCLC wrote a detailed letter to the City Council's newly formed Audit Subcommittee recommending an audit of potential waste and the adequacy of internal controls concerning compensation of City employees and the size of City government. Some of you have seen this letter already. A copy is linked here. Others, including the Gomez brothers, Robert and Dominic, have raised questions or made presentations about these issues to some neighborhood groups.

This Tuesday, we have an opportunity to be heard on these important issues. That's when the Council Audit Subcommittee meets at 7:00 p.m. - Ken Edwards Center 1527 4th Street to discuss the scope of an audit by independent auditors, including into these issues. It is important for them to hear your views and that of your members.

We urge you to write to the Audit Subcommittee members about your concerns and what you think the audit should entail and if you can, attend the meeting.
