   RALLY TO SAVE SANTA MONICA
   FROM MASSIVE HINES DEVELOPMENT
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 6:00 PM SHARP, CITY HALL

This Tuesday, February 4, our City Council will be voting on whether to allow a powerful, politically connected, Texas developer to build its massive, unpopular project in the most congested part of our city.

The developer and its paid posse will surely be there when this vote is taken. Residents opposing this city planning disaster need to be there, too.

Last week, Santa Monica residents packed City Hall to tell Council members that the Hines project at 26th and Olympic is too big for this already gridlocked area of our city.

The developer's own estimate is that regardless of light rail, their project will generate 7,000 new car trips a day! Other experts believe the real numbers will be twice that amount!

Let's finish the job we started!

Please join us for this important rally on February 4, 6:00 at City Hall, to remind our Council members that they must listen to residents' concerns about over-development and our gridlocked streets.

Both sides agree that the fate of the project will determine the future of development in Santa Monica. If this developer wins, the floodgates will open for the other 35 Development Agreements in the pipeline. If this development is rejected, developers will be on notice that residents will no longer tolerate the status quo.

Please come. Your presence will be your voice. Together we can take our city back from powerful developers.

Thanks,

Victor, Diana, Sherrill, Jeff
