SMCLC Files Complaint with California Fair Political Practices Commission Against Developer Front Group Santa Monicans For Quality Government.

As many residents know, developers poured money into our recent local elections to defeat Ted Winterer and Kevin McKeown. They did it through a front group called "Santa Monicans for Quality Government," which was wholly funded by big developers with projects pending before City Council, and by a law firm that represents them.

After carefully researching this issue, we believe that to avoid transparency, "SMQG" acted illegally by not following California law regulating campaign disclosure requirements. Therefore, SMCLC has filed a Complaint with the California Fair Political Practices Commission against "SMQG."

Complaints with the FPPC typically take months to be resolved. We'll keep you posted as it develops.
