Please join SMCLC in supporting the Term Limits Initiative.
Petitions are now being circulated in Santa Monica to put a measure on the November ballot that would limit our city council members to serving three terms (12 years).
Our state and county as well as L.A. and surrounding cities have similar term limits.
While our City Council has adopted term limits for virtually everyone else, they have failed to do it for THEMSELVES. In the future, SMCLC wants to see more open Council seats, enabling our many talented residents to have a realistic chance to serve in and improve our government.
The campaign is approaching a critical deadline in a few weeks when all of the petitions have to be turned in so the signatures can be counted.
We believe it is important to help to help move this initiative forward. Therefore, we are asking our supporters to please do the following:
